Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jan Woita!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Martyn Paul Casey!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Edson Gomes and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Casey moves out of range as Woita strikes.
Woita misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Woita throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Woita throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Casey.
Nice sprawl there from Woita as Casey shoots in.
Jan Woita seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Casey drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Casey feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Woita pushes Casey away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Casey gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Casey won't let Woita get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

Woita is desperately trying to improve his position but Casey has a good base and remains in mount.
The referee warns Woita that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Woita tries to hold on but Casey postures up.
Casey lands a big shot there that rocks Woita but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Woita's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Woita rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Casey moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Woita closes the distance and pushes Casey back into the cage.
Woita tries to land knees in the clinch but Casey avoids the damage to the body.
Casey keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Woita's efforts to push away.

Woita is fighting off a takedown attempt but Casey is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Woita to the mat. Woita regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

I think Casey has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
