Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 14 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Charlie Murpy!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Murpy has his takedown stuffed
and Tankard counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Tankard scores with a nice head shot.
Murpy takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Murpy ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Murpy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tankard counters with a nice low kick that buckles Murpy's knee momentarily.
Tankard misses with a leg kick
and Murpy counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Tankard swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tankard pivots, looking for a leg kick but Murpy is out of range and Tankard settles back down.

Murpy moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

and Murpy counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Tankard is controlling Murpy's trapped leg to prevent Murpy from advancing to side control.

Murpy is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tankard sees it coming and defends easily.
Tankard holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.
Tankard is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Tankard controlling the leg, holding on to half guard.
Murpy prevents Tankard from improving his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Tankard is pressing down on Murpy's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Tankard wants to sweep here but Murpy controlling him for the moment.
Tankard has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Tankard cracks Murpy with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.

and Tankard counters with a leg kick.
Luke Tankard has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Charlie Murpy.
Murpy circles away from the clinch attempt.
Murpy uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Tankard.
Tankard lands a nice leg kick that just misses Murpy's sensitive parts.
Murpy tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Tankard was well out of range. Poor timing from Murpy.
Tankard is looking to wear down Murpy with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

and Murpy cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tankard lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the ropes.
Tankard gets through Murpy's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Tankard tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Tankard presses Murpy against the ropes and delivers a mid-strength body shot.

Murpy is rocked!
Tankard throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Murpy sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Murpy gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Tankard gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Murpy is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
