Young has chosen Scorpions - The Zoo as his entrance music. Jake Young will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Young is looking to land body kicks.
Jake Young seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Askren shoots in for a takedown but Young shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

and Askren counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Young thinking.
Young ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Young has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Askren is working away from the top position though.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jake Young hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
That kick from Young tenderised Askren's leg. Askren is trying to keep his angry face on.
Askren connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Young momentarily.

enabling Askren to counter with a crisp jab.

A close round but Jake Young will probably get the nod.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Jake Young showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
