Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Darrell Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Adam Rubio (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Davis kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Envy on the Coast - Southern Comfort. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Darrell Davis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Adam Rubio!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rubio throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Davis looks to clinch

and Rubio counters with a takedown into side control.
Rubio lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Rubio just content to control the position.

Rubio tries for a kimura but Davis is defending well.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Rubio throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Davis dodges the ground and pound from Rubio.

Rubio is trying to get an arm triangle but Davis is defending well.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Rubio decides to take the fight back to the feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rubio closes the distance and clinches.
Rubio tries to pull guard but Davis won't allow it.
Davis landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.

Rubio pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Rubio thuds a left hand into Davis's body.

Davis gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rubio has Davis pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Davis manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Rubio lands an elbow inside that Davis shrugs off.
Davis pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Davis takes an elbow to the forehead.
A frustrated look appears on Rubio's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Rubio is trying to break free.
Davis prevents the takedown attempt.
Darrell Davis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Adam Rubio.
Rubio managing to block the knees to the body from Davis.

Rubio pulls Davis into guard.

Rubio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Davis gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Rubio pushes Davis off and scrambles back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Davis tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Rubio holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Davis gets underhooks to prevent Rubio's takedown attempt.
Davis looking to throw knees to the head but Rubio is blocking nicely.

Rubio gets a trip takedown into half guard.
Davis is looking for a sweep. Rubio is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Rubio throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Davis on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Davis tries to get out of the position.
Rubio is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Davis is looking for a sweep. Rubio is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Rubio postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Davis to stand up.
Darrell Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rubio works over Davis's head and body with a nice combination.
Davis is breathing heavily.
Davis leaves Rubio with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Rubio scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Davis gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!
Rubio fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Rubio get's back to his feet.
Rubio lands a head kick!
Rubio connects with the punch.

Davis gets tackled into the cage by Rubio. Rubio maintains the clinch.
Rubio stalling in the clinch.

Rubio pulls Davis into guard.
Davis looking to sit in guard and control but Rubio gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Davis knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rubio on the ground.
Rubio is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Rubio pushes down on Davis's leg and manages to get into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well, if Rubio is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Rubio's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Adam Rubio was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Rubio bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Davis's head.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Rubio closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Davis quickly recovers to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Rubio controlling the action here.
Rubio is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adam Rubio dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Rubio ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Rubio no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Rubio has his feet on Davis's thighs here. He's pushed Davis off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Davis screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!
