Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Enteng Balagtas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Santana Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machida has chosen Sexy Chick as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

11 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Santana Machida!
The judges for this bout are Hirohito Nitta, Shirou Masuda and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida darts in trying to clinch
and Balagtas connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
It looks like Santana Machida has been cut.
Machida wants to clinch up but Balagtas keeps it at a distance.
Machida feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Balagtas looking for a sweep. Not yet Balagtas, not yet.
Balagtas working a defensive guard here.
Machida tries to free his leg and advance position but Balagtas is retaining full guard.
Balagtas wants to stand but Machida is controlling the position.
Machida is pushing down on Balagtas's leg trying to pass to half guard. Balagtas is fighting to maintain full guard but Machida has managed to sneak the leg through.
Machida passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Balagtas!
Machida works his way to his opponent's back.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Machida is cranking Balagtas's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Balagtas! He's tightened the choke and Balagtas is tapping out!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Santana Machida!
Santana Machida is the new middleweight champion!
