Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Enrique Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bija Firserfest (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Volkov shoots in for a takedown but Firserfest shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Firserfest lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Volkov slips a jab from Firserfest.
Volkov looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Firserfest. Volkov does a little dance to reset his feet.
Volkov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Volkov takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

It looks like Enrique Volkov has been cut.
Firserfest changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
A right-left combo lands from Firserfest.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Volkov takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Volkov is rocked!

Volkov scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Firserfest is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Volkov off and has taken his back!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
I would not like to be Volkov right now.
Will Firserfest go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?

OK we're going to have a standup here. Bija Firserfest hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
A right-left combo lands from Firserfest.
Volkov misses with a head kick.
Volkov on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Firserfest lands a left and a right that send Volkov crashing to the mat, dazed. Firserfest thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Oh Volkov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Firserfest fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Volkov is breathing heavily.
Firserfest throws a shot to the body.
Volkov seems to have got his legs back now.
Bija Firserfest is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Firserfest misses with a looping left.
Firserfest stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Enrique Volkov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Firserfest lands a glancing blow to the side of Volkov's head.

Enrique Volkov's cut is getting worse.

Firserfest goes for a small jab and connects. Now Firserfest goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Volkov stumbles back but Firserfest runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Volkov to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Volkov will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
