PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mr White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Heavy Damage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). White comes into the arena with yes blaring out of the sound system. Damage has chosen South Afrika as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Heavy Damage has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Mr White's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Mr White!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Heavy Damage!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Damage misses with a kick to the body.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as White checks a leg kick.
White is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Damage.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from White lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Damage has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Damage and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Damage looks to clinch
and White counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Damage is lucky that one didn't land flush.
White throws a lazy right hand but Damage sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Damage swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and White makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Damage throws a predictable looking body shot
and White counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

White throws a half hearted mid kick.
Damage connects with a body shot that sends White's belly button to the back.

Damage closes the distance looking to clinch
and White counters with a nice uppercut.
Damage looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? White is fending him off so far but Damage persists. Nope, White circles away and we're back to standing.
White avoids a punch combination nicely.
Damage thows a body shot but no joy.
White throws out a loose jab but Damage uses good head movement to avoid it.
The fighters circling - Damage throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
White misses with a few strikes there.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Damage moves out of range as White strikes.
An inside leg kick lands from Damage.
White jabs Damage to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Damage connects with an inside leg kick.
White rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Damage counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

White pushes Damage up against the cage in a clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. White obliges.
Damage is looking to break free of the clinch but White has double underhooks.
Damage with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Damage misses with a knee to the head.
White lands an elbow that stopped Damage in his tracks for a moment.

It looks like Heavy Damage has been cut.
White lands on the inside with an uppercut.

Damage manages to break the clinch.
Damage wants to clinch

and White counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
White trying to pass the guard but Damage defending well.
Damage is trying to maintain the position but White is very close to passing his half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Damage tries to get to full guard but White has control of the leg.
Damage keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Damage slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
White wants to control from the top but Damage keeps moving.
White advances position into side control!
White misses with the ground and pound.
White lands a few punches from side control.
Damage is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
White will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
White is chipping away with strikes.
White postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Damage taking a bit of punishment here - White scoring with strikes.
Damage is looking for a sweep.
Damage takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
White wants to control but Damage is keeping him busy.
Damage gets back to half guard.
White lands with a punch from half guard.
Damage wants to improve his position but White is controlling well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
White passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Damage!
Damage is in all sorts of trouble here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mr White dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Heavy Damage's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

White is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Damage's half guard.
White is nestled in close to Damage, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Damage looks like he's trying to stand up.
White is trying to control the action in half guard but Damage is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

White seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

White is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Damage defends it well.
White slips a nice elbow through Damage's hands, connecting with Damage's forehead.
White uses his free foot to push down on Damage's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Damage.
Damage is looking to improve his position but White isn't that keen on the idea.
White lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
