Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michael Niwa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and George St Pierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Michael Niwa has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Michael Niwa seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and St Pierre counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

St Pierre goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.

St Pierre pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Niwa back to the cage. St Pierre follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

St Pierre throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Niwa stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Niwa feints and as St Pierre raises his hands in defense, Niwa changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
St Pierre is looking to stand up but Niwa isn't so interested in that idea.

Niwa is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! St Pierre is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! St Pierre has escaped and now he's on top!

Michael Niwa overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if St Pierre can do anything to dispel that myth.
