Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Faria (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frankie Penn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Frankie Penn!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Penn avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Penn shoots for a double leg takedown but Faria sprawls well. He's pushed Penn's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Faria is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Penn trying to control the action but Faria is working from the bottom.
Faria avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Penn.

Faria fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Faria throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Penn punishes Faria's body with a nice straight punch.
Faria throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Penn throws a series of punches but Faria avoids them all with ease.
Faria tries to clinch but Penn moves out of range.

and Penn decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Faria's guard.
Faria keeping moving, preventing Penn from controlling successfully.
Penn with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Penn drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Faria manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Penn has Faria in his guard.
Faria tries to stand but Penn is controlling from the bottom.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Penn pulls Faria in to control the position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Frankie Penn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Penn shoots in for a takedown but Faria shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Penn shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Faria manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Penn postures up in Faria's guard and throws a big left but Faria blocks it.

Penn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Penn stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Faria swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Penn distracts Faria with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Frankie Penn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Faria gets caught flat footed, as Penn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Faria utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Frankie Penn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Excellent takedown into side control there by Penn.

Penn tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Penn has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Faria tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Penn paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Penn is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Faria is trying to escape and Penn transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Faria is forced to tap! Nice work there by Penn! Very nice indeed!
