Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Kanavanah (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and William Ma (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kanavanah's entrance music is stop dat. A fine choice. Ma has chosen All Shall Perish- Wage Slave as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Shane Kanavanah!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, William Ma!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Steven Brown and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ma has managed to clinch.
Ma wants a takedown.
Ma with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Kanavanah lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Ma or not.
Ma stops a takedown attempt from Kanavanah.
Kanavanah wants to stall.
Nice elbow from Kanavanah.
Kanavanah wants a takedown.

Kanavanah breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Ma tries to sprawl but Kanavanah drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Kanavanah missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Kanavanah thows a huge punch but Ma dodges it nicely.
Ma pushes Kanavanah off looking to stand but Kanavanah dives back in and keeps control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kanavanah is looking to advance position but Ma won't allow it.

Kanavanah wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ma keeps working.
Kanavanah wants to free his trapped foot but Ma is holding on for dear life with his legs.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kanavanah has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Shane Kanavanah.

Ma tries to sprawl but Kanavanah drives through with a takedown into half guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Ma is on top in guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Kanavanah wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Kanavanah utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ma lands a couple of elbows.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ma postures up in Kanavanah's guard and throws a big left but Kanavanah blocks it.
Ma wants to stand and escape but instead Kanavanah has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Ma bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kanavanah's guard.
Ma wants to control from the top but Kanavanah keeps moving.
Ma throws and elbow that misses. Kanavanah uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ma's guard. Nice move by Kanavanah!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shane Kanavanah dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Kanavanah is trying to stand back up but Ma is controlling him
Ma is looking to advance position but Kanavanah won't allow it.

Ma looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Ma is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Kanavanah defends it well.

Ma with the ground and pound but Kanavanah uses the opportunity to regain guard.
Ma trying to control but Kanavanah is working from the bottom.

Kanavanah has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Ma off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Ma has closed the distance and engaged Kanavanah in a clinch.
Kanavanah tries to score a body lock takedown but Ma shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kanavanah tries to break the clinch but Ma is controlling the position.
Ma has Kanavanah pressed against the cage, preventing Kanavanah from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Kanavanah tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Ma just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Kanavanah. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Ma counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kanavanah's guard now.
Ma throws a big right hand that misses.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Ma is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Ma drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kanavanah looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kanavanah looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kanavanah!

Ma preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Ma wants to stand but Kanavanah is controlling the position.
Kanavanah postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Kanavanah working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Kanavanah advances position into side control!
The strikes coming from Kanavanah are missing the target in this wave of attacks.
Kanavanah trying to control the position but Ma is working away.
Kanavanah tries to advance to mount but Ma denies him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

William Ma showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by William Ma.
Ma takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Kanavanah misses with a wild body shot.
Kanavanah tries to clinch up

and Ma counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kanavanah's guard now.

Ma postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kanavanah is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Ma, into his guard.

Kanavanah stands up and waves to Ma to follow him.
Ma takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Kanavanah shoots and misses

so Ma counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Ma throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Kanavanah works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Ma drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Kanavanah dives on top into guard.
Kanavanah trying to control but Ma is working from the bottom.
Ma pulls Kanavanah in close to prevent any damage.
William Ma has got the better of the ground game so far.
Ma wants to stand up but Kanavanah is controlling him.

Ma pushes Kanavanah off and scrambles back to his feet.
Kanavanah fails with the takedown

and Ma counters with a single leg into guard. Kanavanah didn't expect that.

Ma decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Kanavanah, up you get!

and Ma counters with a nice double leg into guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

William Ma comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Ma has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
