Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sammy Sullivan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sammy Sullivan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 11 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Joe Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sullivan throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Barnes.

Barnes moves into range and clinches up with Sullivan.
A short right from Barnes on the inside.
Sullivan has had enough of the clinch but Barnes keeps him there for the moment.
Barnes tries to work over Sullivan's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Sullivan tries for a takedown but Barnes manages to get underhooks.
Sullivan blocks an uppercut.
Barnes misses with the head strike.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Barnes throws a punch but it's blocked by Sullivan.
Barnes doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Barnes gets through Sullivan's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sullivan pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Barnes looks to clinch
and Sullivan counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Barnes tries to move into range but Sullivan moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Sullivan connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Barnes momentarily.
A lazy left from Sullivan finds it's target.

Barnes is rocked!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sullivan cracks Barnes with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Barnes tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Sullivan pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Barnes is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
