Brand comes to the ring accompanied by Russell Brand and Katie Perry. John Grisham will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brand is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Grisham's half guard.
Grisham is not content to let Brand control the position.
Brand is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Grisham is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Grisham flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
Still in half guard, Brand seems content to control.
Brand really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Grisham wants to improve his position but Brand is controlling well.

We're going to have a standup here because Russell Brand wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Grisham misses with a takedown attempt

and Brand counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Grisham can't keep his opponent in guard - Brand advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Grisham wants to get back to his feet.

Brand wants to pass to mount but Grisham is defending the position.
Grisham is looking to improve his position.
Brand is trying to control. Grisham wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Grisham is trying to get back to full guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Russell Brand.
Brand scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

Grisham is rocked!

It looks like John Grisham has been cut.
Brand connects with a stiff jab that staggers Grisham - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
