PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Mack (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angelo Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mack kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Navras. Anderson is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by The Unforgiven. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Mack!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Angelo Anderson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Gwen Towbar and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson swats away the attempt to clinch by Mack.
Anderson swinging wildly here.
Mack tries to clinch but Anderson moves out of range.
Anderson is looking to score with low kicks.
Anderson throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Mack counters with a nice double leg into side control. Anderson won't be happy with that.
Mack controls the position.
Mack misses with the ground and pound.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Anderson's face as Mack controls the position.
Anderson is looking to reverse the position.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Anderson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Mack taking a breather here.
Mack wants to control but Anderson is keeping him busy.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Mack is staying tight to Anderson's torso, preventing him from escaping.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Dave Mack just wasn't active enough.
Mack swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Mack gets the takedown into side control.
Mack wants to lay and pray for a moment but Anderson keeps working.
Anderson tries to bench press Mack off him but Mack keeps the position.
Mack controlling from side mount.
Sloppy strikes there by Mack.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Mack working the ground and pound but Anderson is defending the strikes.
Mack tries to advance to mount but can't.
Anderson is looking to regain half guard here but Mack keeps moving and retains side control.
Mack tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Anderson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mack. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Mack lands some shots froms side control.
Anderson wants to get back to his feet but Mack drags him back down.
Mack is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mack tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Mack is looking to take a break and control but Anderson is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Sloppy strikes there by Mack.
Mack throws a strike aimed at the side of Anderson's head but Anderson avoids it well.
An elbow from Mack crashes against the mat.
Anderson bucks up and tries to throw Mack off but instead Mack has got his back!
Anderson covering up well under a barage of strikes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Anderson tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
Mack controlling from the full mount.
Anderson is in all sorts of trouble here.
Anderson regains half guard.
Mack is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Mack pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.


It looks like Angelo Anderson has been cut.
Mack sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action!



Mack fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Anderson sprawls well initially but Mack persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Anderson is doing well to control the position and prevent Mack from advancing to side control.
Mack is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Mack tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mack prevents Anderson from getting the reversal.
Mack is in the full mount, landing strikes.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mack takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Mack is landing with some decent strikes but Anderson is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
Anderson is looking to improve his position but Mack isn't that keen on the idea.
Mack postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Anderson looks a forlorn figure.


That has opened up Angelo Anderson's cut even more.
Anderson is looking to get to half guard.
Anderson tries to lock up and control but Mack gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Mack has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Mack can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Anderson is looking to escape.
Mack raining down shots from the mount!


The cut above Angelo Anderson's eye is starting to cause him problems now.

Anderson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Anderson tries to lock up and control but Mack gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Anderson is desperately trying to improve his position but Mack has a good base and remains in mount.
Mack raining down shots from the mount!


Angelo Anderson's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Angelo Anderson's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:59 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Dave Mack!
Dave Mack is the new light heavyweight champion!
