Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jefferson Silva!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Patrick Alders and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Michaels scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silva looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Michaels thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Michaels moving around in side mount but really he's just happy to control for now.
Michaels wants to stand but Silva is controlling his arm.

Michaels just content to control the position.
Michaels seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Silva for as long as he can get away with.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Silva takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

A lull in the action here as Michaels stalls from top position.
Silva prevents Michaels from moving into mount.
Michaels is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Michaels is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Silva knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Silva tries to improve position but can't.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Michaels throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silva was covering up waiting for the punch and Michaels finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Michaels wants to pass the guard but Silva is keeping the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Michaels might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Melvin Michaels.

Michaels shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Jefferson Silva has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Melvin Michaels is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Melvin Michaels.
