PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Trishia Anne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Sheaf (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trishia Anne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Scott Sheaf!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anne moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Anne shoots for a takedown but Sheaf saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Anne dodges the punch combination from Sheaf.
Sheaf fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Anne looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Sheaf scores with a sloppy right hand. Anne should have avoided that one.
Sheaf fails to land with a series of punches.
Sheaf swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Anne counters with a shoot takedown. Sheaf fights it but they end up in guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Anne throwing strikes from guard but Sheaf blocks nicely.
Sheaf really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Anne. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Anne trying to control but Sheaf is working from the bottom.

Anne postures up.
Anne wants to control from the top but Sheaf keeps moving.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Anne tries a head kick but it misses.
Sheaf misses with a jab, cross combination.
Sheaf pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Anne back to the cage. Sheaf follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
The fighters circle momentarily. Sheaf darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Sheaf drives through with a takedown into guard.
Anne trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Sheaf is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Anne kicks Sheaf off and gets to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jab, jab by Sheaf - just one landing.

Anne gets a clinch.
Anne prevents Sheaf from breaking the clinch.

Anne breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Anne moves in looking to clinch but Sheaf pushes him off.
Sheaf moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Anne takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Sheaf fails with an attempt to clinch.
Sheaf looks gassed!
Sheaf misses with a combination
and Anne makes the exchange count by landing a cracking kick to the body. Sheaf really felt that one!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Anne closes the distance and clinches.
Sheaf prevents a takedown attempt there.
Sheaf working hard to break the clinch.
Sheaf is trying to break the clinch but Anne has him pressed against the cage.
Sheaf has had enough of the clinch but Anne keeps him there for the moment.
Sheaf prevents a takedown attempt there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Trishia Anne. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Anne manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Anne is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Sheaf can't fight it off and eventually Anne manages to take the fight to the floor. Sheaf looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Anne's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Sheaf trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Anne chips away with some ground and pound.
Anne has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Sheaf wants to get back to his feet but Anne is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Anne sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Sheaf's guard.
Anne not doing much here.

Anne decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Sheaf gets tackled into the cage by Anne. Anne maintains the clinch.

Anne pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Anne shoots in and drives through. Sheaf sprawls well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Trishia Anne will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Nice body kick there by Anne.
Anne misses with a series of wild punches.
Trishia Anne is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Sheaf looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Anne is fending him off so far but Sheaf persists. Nope, Anne circles away and we're back to standing.

Anne moves into range and clinches up with Sheaf.

Anne lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Anne not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Anne stands up and beckons Sheaf to join him on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Anne throws a nice inside leg kick.

Sheaf misses with a few strikes there.
Anne swats away the attempt to clinch by Sheaf.

Sheaf gets a clinch.
Sheaf is trying to force a seperation but Anne has the dominant position.
Anne taking a breather.

Anne has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Sheaf uses from the top position.
Anne manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Anne tries to control but Sheaf wriggling away.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A nice elbow there by Anne.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sheaf can do anything to dispel that myth.

Anne has isolated one of Sheaf's arms. Sheaf looking to fight him off but Anne twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:46 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Trishia Anne!
