PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cristian Miros (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramoan Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ramoan Silva struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 146.4lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. Cristian Miros has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cristian Miros!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ramoan Silva!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Saam Ante and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Miros tries to clinch up
and Silva counters with a nice uppercut.
Miros with a lazy takedown attempt
and Miros takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Silva cracks a nice hook into Miros's ribs.
Miros misses with a series of wild punches.

Miros gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Silva to score an easy takedown into full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Silva decides to stand back up. Silva steps back and let's Miros get back to his feet.
Miros moves to clinch but Silva breaks away

and Silva counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Miros's guard now.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Silva drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Silva jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Silva won't allow Miros to get back to his feet.
Silva slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Silva is staying tight to Miros's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Miros pushes Silva away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Silva gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Miros is breathing heavily.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Silva decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Silva feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Silva stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miros swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Silva lands a couple of elbows.
Silva is stalling in the full guard.

Silva stands and steps away. Miros gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Silva lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Miros at a distance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Silva looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Miros keeping moving, preventing Silva from controlling successfully.
Miros knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Miros wants to stand but Silva is controlling the position.
Silva not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Silva passes Miros's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Silva keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Silva is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Silva stops Miros from getting back to his feet.
Silva passes the guard and advances to mount!
Silva looking to control and managing it successfully.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Silva lands a heavy elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ramoan Silva dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


No luck for Silva with that takedown attempt.

Miros wants to try and get back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Silva tries to control but Miros wriggling away.
Silva tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Silva misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Silva wants to take Miros's back but he can't do it this time.

Miros defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Silva.

Silva jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Miros manages to avoid the submission attempt.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Silva is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Miros is trying to escape and Silva transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Miros is forced to tap! Nice work there by Silva! Very nice indeed!
