The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nowak on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Samu with a lazy takedown attempt
and Nowak connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

It looks like Murri Samu has been cut.

Samu moves into the clinch.
Samu fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Samu jumps guard and drags Nowak to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Nowak looking to pass the guard.
Samu looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Nowak thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Nowak tries to free his leg and advance position but Samu is retaining full guard.
Samu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Nowak manages to get himself to full guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Samu wants to stand but Nowak is controlling his posture from full guard.

Samu is trying to land a reversal but Nowak doesn't like that idea too much. He pushed the legs to the side and dives into side control. He's managed to grab a loose arm triangle.
