Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Babsie Paneda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jon Jones!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Paneda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jones circles away.
Paneda misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Paneda decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jones missing with punches from the bottom.
Jones is staying active underneath Paneda, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Jones gets full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Paneda wants to control from the top but Jones keeps moving.
Jones is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Paneda is fighting to break Jones's control of his arms but Jones is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jones throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Paneda connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Jones throws a leg kick but Paneda moved away.
Jones does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

Jones throws a sloppy head kick and Paneda moves out of range easily.

Jones slaps away a takedown attempt from Paneda, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Paneda cracks Jones with a big right hand but Jones just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Paneda could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Paneda stands up and waves to Jones to follow him.
Jones misses with a lunging right hand

and Paneda counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Paneda is standing up over Jones. Jones looks to escape but Paneda dives into side control.
Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Paneda wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Jones tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Paneda presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Paneda wants to control but Jones manages to buck him off and is now in Paneda's guard! Nice work there by Jones!

Paneda is working an open guard so Jones takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Paneda will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jones throws a head kick that Paneda semi-blocks.
Babsie Paneda is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Paneda shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jones defends it nicely.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Paneda.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

That's time! Paneda's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Jones throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Paneda closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
It looks like Paneda is going to stand back up.
Jones throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Jones wants to improve his position but Paneda is controlling well.
Paneda scores with a couple of good hammerfists.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jones is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Paneda is stalling here. Jones is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Paneda seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Jones has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Jones decides to stand up, so the ref orders Paneda to his feet.
Paneda is trying hard to land a takedown here. Jones sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Jones misses with a combination

and Paneda counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Paneda.
Jones is pressed up against the cage. Paneda has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jones down to the mat. Jones avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Paneda scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

Paneda wants to control but Jones is keeping him busy.
Jones tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Paneda tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Jones is wriggling around trying to escape.

Paneda working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.

Jones wants to control but Paneda is having none of it.
Jones tries to strike from the bottom but he's left himself exposed and Paneda has taken his back.
Paneda lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Paneda somehow managing to miss with a strike from the back.
Paneda scores with a nice shot to the head of his opponent. Jones is looking for a way out.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
I really don't envy Jones right now.
Jones controlling the position well but he knows he's in a bad position.
Paneda is landing with strikes. Jones can't take much more of this.
Jones trying to control the hands but Paneda breaks the grip.
Jones manages to reverse the position and now he's in Paneda's guard. Nice work there by Jones.
Jon Jones has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Babsie Paneda is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Jones wanted to stand there but Paneda had control of the position.
