PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Pidkova Viacheslaw Yurievich (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Vladimar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pidkova Viacheslaw Yurievich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Igor Vladimar!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Vladimir Khabensky and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yurievich clinches with his opponent.

Yurievich jumps guard.
Yurievich looking for a sweep. Not yet Yurievich, not yet.
Yurievich might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Yurievich is pulling down on Vladimar's head to control his posture.
Vladimar engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Yurievich is trying to control the position but Vladimar postures up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Vladimar is looking to stand up but Yurievich won't let him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Vladimar is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Yurievich tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Vladimar shoots in looking for a takedown. Yurievich tries to sprawl out of it but Vladimar keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Yurievich manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Yurievich is pressed up against the cage. Vladimar has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Yurievich down to the mat. Yurievich avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Pidkova Viacheslaw Yurievich has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Igor Vladimar.
Vladimar misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Vladimar shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Yurievich pinned against the cage. Yurievich gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Yurievich closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Vladimar to the mat! Vladimar manages to get full guard.

Yurievich has gone for a leg lock! Vladimar slips out almost immediately though and dives into Yurievich's guard.

Yurievich had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Vladimar defends it easily.

Yurievich wants to sweep here but Vladimar controlling him for the moment.

Yurievich is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Vladimar is stalling here. Yurievich is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Vladimar seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Yurievich has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That was a close round but I would say that Pidkova Viacheslaw Yurievich will probably get the nod.

Vladimar got a little sloppy there for a moment and Yurievich has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Vladimar has managed to get both his arms back between Yurievich's legs - danger averted.

Vladimar decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Yurievich slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Yurievich stops Vladimar from standing up.
Yurievich postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Vladimar is looking to stand up but Yurievich isn't so interested in that idea.
Yurievich wants to stand but Vladimar has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pidkova Viacheslaw Yurievich will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!



Vladimar drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

I think Yurievich has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
