The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simeon is looking to clinch.
Simeon wants to clinch up but Bernard keeps it at a distance.

Bernard throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Bernard swats away the attempt to clinch by Simeon .
Simeon shoots for a takedown but Bernard saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Bernard tries to move into full mount but can't pass Simeon 's legs.

Simeon tries to control but Bernard manages to take his back.

Simeon is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Bernard slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Bernard is riding his opponent, not letting Simeon buck him off.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Bernard has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Simeon uses from the top position.

Bernard pulls Simeon in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bernard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Simeon manages to get himself to full guard.
Simeon could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bernard connects with a couple of short punches.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Simeon looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bernard has picked Simeon up and slammed him! Simeon can't keep hold of the triangle and Bernard manages to pass to side control!

Bernard in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Simeon takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bernard advances to full mount.
Bernard loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Simeon scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Bernard land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Bernard stands and salutes the crowd.
