The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beefcake lands a really nice looking cross but Hunter seems unphased.

Beefcake throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Hunter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Beefcake is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hunter, into his guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hunter tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Hunter is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Hunter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Hunter is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Beefcake has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Beefcake is breathing heavily.
Hunter lands a big shot there that rocks Beefcake but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Hunter lands a big elbow.

Hunter working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Beefcake turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Hunter off and cradles Beefcake's limp body as Hunter celebrates with his corner.
