I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Mark Munoz was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Munoz tries for a takedown but Powell circles away easily
and Powell counters with a nice uppercut.
Powell tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Munoz counters with a takedown into side control.
Powell struggling a bit here.

Munoz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Munoz working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Powell defending against the ground and pound.
Munoz cracks Powell with a big right hand but Powell just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Sloppy strikes there by Munoz.
Powell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Munoz on the ground.
Munoz lands some shots froms side control.
Munoz misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Munoz wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Powell, who protects the arm well.
Powell on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Munoz landing a few strikes.
Munoz scores with a couple of short elbows.

Munoz is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Powell is trying to escape and Munoz transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Powell is forced to tap! Nice work there by Munoz! Very nice indeed!
