The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Washburn misses with a takedown attempt
enabling Tate to counter with a crisp jab.
Washburn with a lazy takedown attempt
and Tate counters with a straight right hand.
Washburn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Tate counters with a stiff right hand.
David Tate has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Zoe Washburn.

Tate cracks Washburn with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Washburn is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Tate.

Tate gets caught flat footed, as Washburn shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Washburn has gone for a leg lock! Tate slips out almost immediately though and dives into Washburn's guard.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Tate wants to stand but Washburn is controlling his posture from full guard.
Washburn is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Washburn is looking to sinch up a triangle. Tate throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Washburn's body to avoid the submission. Washburn has instead reached around Tate's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Washburn arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
