Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryo Miyaguchi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Kreese (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kreese is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Keelhauled. John Kreese has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ryo Miyaguchi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, John Kreese!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Daniel Franklin and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kreese misses with an uppercut
and Miyaguchi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Kreese throws a lazy uppercut

and Miyaguchi decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Kreese's guard.
Miyaguchi trying to control the position from guard on top but Kreese is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miyaguchi wants to control from the top but Kreese keeps moving.

Miyaguchi creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kreese sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Miyaguchi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
You can see the frustration on Kreese's face as Miyaguchi controls the position.

Miyaguchi is covering up but some of the strikes from Kreese are getting through and doing damage.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Kreese.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Miyaguchi manages to reverse the position and now he's in Kreese's guard. Nice work there by Miyaguchi.

Kreese is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Miyaguchi pulls his head out easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Miyaguchi counters with a shoot takedown. Kreese fights it but they end up in guard.
Miyaguchi won't allow Kreese to sweep him here.

Kreese has his foot on Miyaguchi's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Miyaguchi works his way back into a safe position though.

Ryo Miyaguchi has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

John Kreese seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kreese cracks Miyaguchi with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kreese holds on and takes a little breather.
Miyaguchi wants to get up but he can't break Kreese's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Kreese is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Kreese connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Miyaguchi goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Kreese has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Miyaguchi but great work by Kreese.

I would just about give that final round to John Kreese.
Well Miyaguchi has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
