Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hercule Poirot (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Luke Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Poirot's entrance music is Poirot Theme. A fine choice. Hercule Poirot has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Poirot blocks a low kick nicely.
Poirot swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Wilson counters with a nice low kick that buckles Poirot's knee momentarily.
Wilson thumps Poirot with a low kick.
Poirot jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Wilson comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Poirot fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Wilson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Poirot.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Wilson.
Poirot changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wilson tries to avoid it but Poirot manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wilson to the ground. Wilson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Wilson moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Wilson.
Poirot is breathing heavily.
Wilson cracks the inside of Poirot's front leg.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Wilson lands a head kick. Poirot smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Poirot shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Wilson sprawls well. Wilson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Poirot gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hercule Poirot. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Wilson connects with a high kick.

Poirot is rocked!
A slapping leg kick lands for Wilson.
This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Poirot. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery.
Wilson lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Wilson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Wilson.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Poirot steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Wilson. That one must have hurt.
Wilson chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Wilson plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Wilson is looking to slow Poirot down with leg kicks.
Poirot stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Wilson.

Wilson lands a head kick that stumbles Poirot and the fighters go to the mat.
Oh Poirot is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Wilson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Poirot swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Wilson trying to stand up but can't free himself from Poirot's guard.
Poirot seems to have got his legs back now.
Wilson postures up in Poirot's guard and throws a big left but Poirot blocks it.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wilson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Wilson wants to stand and escape but instead Poirot has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.
Poirot pushes down on Wilson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Wilson tries to kick Poirot off but Poirot keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Poirot works his way into full mount!
Wilson is trying to escape the mount.
Poirot moves to the back.

Wilson won't enjoy being in this position. Poirot looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Wilson is tapping - it's over boys! Poirot picks up the submission victory!
