Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Guillaume Steckels!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Alec Ball and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duarte darts in trying to clinch
and Steckels counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Steckels throws a sloppy head kick and Duarte moves out of range easily.
Steckels looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Steckels throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
No joy there for Steckels, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duarte shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Steckels manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Steckels wants to stand and escape but Duarte is having none of it.
Duarte stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steckels swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Steckels utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Duarte is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Marcos Duarte just wasn't active enough.
The fight stays on the outside here - Duarte looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Steckels circles away from the clinch attempt.
Steckels lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

Duarte shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Duarte showed some decent athleticism there.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Steckels wants to get back to his feet.
Duarte is taking a breather. Steckels says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.

Duarte shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Steckels napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Duarte has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Steckels is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Duarte yanks on the arm and Steckels is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Duarte.
