Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Cooper (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Yousaf Kurracon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Max Cooper!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Yousaf Kurracon!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kurracon doesn't succeed with the takedown
letting Cooper counter with a right hand.
Kurracon swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Cooper counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Cooper throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Kurracon was covering up waiting for the punch and Cooper finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Cooper wants to pass the guard but Kurracon is keeping the position.
Cooper loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Cooper thows a big elbow that misses.
Kurracon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cooper is one step ahead there.

Cooper is looking to work some ground and pound but Kurracon has wrist control.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kurracon looking to hit a scissor sweep but Cooper is one step ahead there.
Cooper missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Cooper wants to pass the guard but Kurracon is keeping the position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kurracon is on top in guard.

Kurracon's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Cooper has his foot on Kurracon's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kurracon works his way back into a safe position though.
Kurracon advances to half guard.
Kurracon seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Cooper missing with punches from the bottom.
Cooper is breathing heavily.
Kurracon is figuring out what he wants to do next.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kurracon is trying to control the action in half guard but Cooper is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Yousaf Kurracon has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kurracon throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Cooper counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kurracon won't be happy with that.
Cooper is trying to ground and pound but Kurracon uses the momentary lack of control by Cooper to regain half guard.
Cooper misses with a head shot. Kurracon uses the momentum to regain guard.

Kurracon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cooper's guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Kurracon throws a nice looking combination but Cooper bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Cooper closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Kurracon bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Cooper's guard.

Cooper has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Kurracon can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Kurracon is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Let's hope that Kurracon has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Yousaf Kurracon has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Kurracon misses with a wild combination.
Kurracon throws a left and a right that both miss

so Cooper counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Cooper throws a strike but Kurracon rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Kurracon controls from within his opponent's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Yousaf Kurracon wasn't active enough on the ground.

Kurracon shoots in and bounces Cooper off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.
Kurracon is stalling in the full guard.
Cooper on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Cooper tries to get out of the position.
Kurracon passes Cooper's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Kurracon controlling the pace.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Yousaf Kurracon hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Kurracon swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Kurracon throws a series of punches but Cooper avoids them all with ease.
Kurracon misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Kurracon drops Cooper with a right and a left! Kurracon comes rushing in but Cooper regains his composure and manages to keep Kurracon in guard.


Cooper is rocked!


It looks like Max Cooper has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kurracon is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Oh Cooper is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kurracon's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Cooper seems to have got his legs back now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Yousaf Kurracon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kurracon.
Kurracon fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Kurracon drives through with a takedown into guard.

Cooper is looking to sinch up a triangle. Kurracon throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Cooper's body to avoid the submission. Cooper has instead reached around Kurracon's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Cooper arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:38 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Max Cooper!
