Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Benedikt Tamplierov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lloyd Budgell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Benedikt Tamplierov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lloyd Budgell!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Robert Douchet and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Budgell scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Budgell is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tamplierov is just riding it out for now. Budgell eventually gives up the hold.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Budgell is looking for a kimura but Tamplierov is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Budgell to get the leverage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Tamplierov dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Budgell. That did some damage!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Budgell is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Tamplierov's shoulder. That is not cool.
Budgell is putting a hurting on Tamplierov here, landing some big shots from side control.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
I looks like Budgell might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Budgell is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tamplierov is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Budgell shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Tamplierov pinned against the cage. Tamplierov gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Benedikt Tamplierov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A kick lands to the mid section there for Tamplierov.
Tamplierov stuffs the takedown attempt from Budgell. Budgell gets slowly back to his feet.

Tamplierov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Budgell paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Budgell shoots in but no luck this time.
Budgell takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Budgell sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Tamplierov's guard.
Budgell uses his free foot to push down on Tamplierov's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Tamplierov.

Budgell has hold of Tamplierov's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tamplierov manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Budgell cracks Tamplierov with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Tamplierov is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Budgell is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Tamplierov can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Budgell wants to take his opponent's back but Tamplierov doesn't allow it.

Tamplierov tries to control Budgell's body but Budgell pushes him off. Tamplierov squirms to his side and now Budgell has his back!

Budgell lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Budgell.

You can see the frustration on Tamplierov's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Budgell is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Tamplierov has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Budgell is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Tamplierov has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Budgell has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Tamplierov taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Budgell doesn't care though - he's delighted!
