The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thumper throws out a loose jab but Gabonica uses good head movement to avoid it.
Thumper rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gabonica moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Thumper misses with an uppercut
and Gabonica counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
No joy there for Thumper, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Gabonica shoots in and bounces Thumper off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Gabonica makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Gabonica content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Gabonica pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Thumper is keeping the position for now.
Gabonica is working Thumper over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Gabonica has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Gabonica cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Oooooh, big shot lands for Gabonica! Thumper is hurt baaadly! Gabonica is firing away with more strikes - Thumper is covering up... the ref is warning him to do something. He's just covering up though still and the ref has to step in to end the fight! This one is all over!
