Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Andrus Laane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Petey Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Laane comes into the arena with 50 Cent - God gave me style blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Petey Smith enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Andrus Laane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Eddie Farnsworth and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laane misses with a double jab
and Smith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Smith trying to control from half guard but Laane is working away.
Smith is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Smith seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Laane knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Smith on the ground.
Laane tries to kick Smith off in order to stand up. Smith Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Laane is trying to get back to his feet.
Smith cracks Laane with an elbow. That is naaassty.
Smith cracks Laane with a big right hand but Laane just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Smith trying to control the position but Laane is working away.
Sloppy strikes there by Smith.
Laane wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Smith postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Smith wants to lay and pray for a moment but Laane keeps working.

Smith cracks Laane with a big elbow.
Laane is trying to buck Smith off.
Laane on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Laane tries to get out of the position.
Smith works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Laane takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Smith in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
Smith tries to advance to mount but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Smith is chipping away with strikes.
Smith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Laane wants to get back to his feet but Smith drags him back down.
Laane is working to avoid the ground and pound but Smith connects with a decent elbow.
Smith should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Laane pushes Smith away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Smith gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Laane is breathing heavily.
Smith in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Laane tries to escape but Smith is in control.
Laane takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Laane is rocked!
Smith grinds an elbow into Laane's temple.
Oh Laane is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Smith scores with punches from side control.
Smith scores with a big shot from side control... and another... and another! Oh Laane is done here - save him referee! More strikes land and eventually the ref does step in and Smith can finally stop beating on his defenseless opponent!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Petey Smith!
