Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pounder tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Arellano swivels and escapes.

Arellano closes the distance and clinches.
Pounder takes an elbow to the temple.
Arellano lands an elbow that stopped Pounder in his tracks for a moment.
Arellano throws a knee to the head but misses.

Pounder blocks the elbow strike.
Pounder has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Arellano is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Pounder goes for a takedown attempt but Arellano pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Pounder drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Arellano throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Pounder blocks it with crossed arms.
Arellano misses with a knee strike.
Pounder has Arellano pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Arellano manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

A head punch on the inside from Arellano fails to land.
Pounder is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Pounder has Arellano pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Pounder pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Arellano tumbling to the mat - Pounder dives into Arellano's guard.
Pounder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Arellano swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The referee warns Arellano that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Pounder lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Arellano hang on?

A close round but Jim Pounder will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
