Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diego Guerra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Guerra might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Feeling This - Blink 182. Diego Guerra has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guerra with a lazy takedown attempt

so Smith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Guerra will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Guerra has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Smith is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Guerra.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Guerra tries to bench press Smith off him but Smith keeps the position.

Smith tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Smith avoids the attempt from Guerra to control.
Guerra is working to get back to half guard.
Guerra really wants to buck Smith off and get back to his feet.
Smith looking to control and managing it successfully.

Guerra is in all sorts of trouble here.
Guerra is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Smith takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Smith won't let Guerra get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Ricky Smith wasn't active enough on the ground.
Smith clobbers Guerra with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Ricky Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Smith throws a head kick but Guerra moves out of range.

Smith lands a big head kick that sends Guerra tumbling to the mat! Smith takes a step backwards and waves Guerra back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Oh Guerra is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smith throws a head kick that misses.
Diego Guerra is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Smith circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Guerra to the canvas! Guerra doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Smith keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
