Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Mott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sebastiao da Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters really staring eachother down here, as Sebastiao da Silva enters the cage!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Mott!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Sebastiao da Silva!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

da Silva looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
da Silva is looking to advance position but Mott won't allow it.
Mott wants to control but da Silva is keeping busy and won't allow it.
da Silva wants to lay and pray for a moment but Mott keeps working.
Mott tries to get to full guard but da Silva has control of the leg.

da Silva is looking for a kimura but Mott is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for da Silva to get the leverage.
Well, if da Silva is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Mott wants to improve his position but da Silva is controlling well.

da Silva is working for a kimura but Mott is defending it quite comfortably.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

da Silva misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

da Silva gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Mott to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Mott pushes down on da Silva's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Mott thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing da Silva to regain full guard.

Mott is looking to work some ground and pound but da Silva has wrist control.

Mott postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! da Silva is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Mott, into his guard.

Mott manages to work his way to half guard, despite da Silva's best efforts.
da Silva wants to free his trapped foot but Mott is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Mott has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. da Silva is working away from the top position though.
da Silva works his foot free and advances to mount.
Mott is in all sorts of trouble here.
Mott slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.

da Silva is looking for a kimura but Mott is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for da Silva to get the leverage.

da Silva wants to control the pace but Mott is squirming around nicely.

da Silva prevents Mott from getting the reversal.
Mott wants to control but da Silva is having none of it.
Mott is desperately trying to improve his position but da Silva has a good base and remains in mount.
da Silva can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mott is looking to escape.

da Silva is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mott has managed to escape the submission attempt.

da Silva perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Mott is defending against the submission attempts here by da Silva.
da Silva seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Sebastiao da Silva will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

da Silva is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Mott off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.
Mott is not going to allow da Silva to sit and survive in this position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

John Mott showed his dominance in that final round.
Well da Silva has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
