Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Mark Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aldin Arifi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arifi has chosen Eminem - Not Afraid as his entrance music. Mark Brown has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Aldin Arifi!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Brown looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Arifi is looking to escape.

Brown is trying to work for a kimura but Arifi is defending well.
Arifi tries to roll over but Brown keeps him under control.
Brown perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Brown wants to control but Arifi is keeping him busy.
Brown will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Brown is trying to work for a kimura but Arifi is defending well.

Brown is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Brown really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Arifi is looking for a sweep. Brown is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Brown wants to work for an arm triangle but Arifi is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Brown seems to be looking for submissions.
Arifi tries to kick Brown off but Brown keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Arifi is trying to stand back up but Brown is controlling him
Arifi really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Brown. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Arifi looks gassed!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Brown's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Mark Brown.
Brown changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Arifi tries to avoid it but Brown manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Arifi to the ground. Arifi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Arifi displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Brown.
Brown cracks Arifi with a good jab.
Mark Brown seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Arifi.

Brown closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Brown lands in his opponent's guard.
Brown sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Arifi's guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Brown in particular looking to stall.
Arifi tries to roll over but Brown keeps him under control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Brown is working for a submission of some sort.

Brown seems to be working for a kimura but Arifi defends the submission attempt.
Arifi is not content to let Brown control the position.
Brown performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Arifi is looking to control Brown's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Arifi avoid being mounted?
Brown is looking to take a break and control but Arifi is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Brown is working for a kimura but Arifi is defending it quite comfortably.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Brown dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Brown!
Arifi shoots in for a double leg but Brown sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A jab from Brown finds it's way through Arifi's defenses.
Brown connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Arifi momentarily.

Brown looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Brown controlling the action here.

Brown has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Arifi defend it? Brown steps over the head and cranks it - Arifi is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Brown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Mark Brown!
