The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cheng cracks McCaig with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Cheng with a body punch. A glancing blow.

McCaig closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Cheng quickly recovers to half guard.
McCaig wants to pass the guard but Cheng is defending well.

McCaig is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Cheng sees it coming and defends easily.
Cheng slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
McCaig must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Cheng is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. McCaig is aware though and is defending well.

McCaig has gone for a leg lock! Cheng slips out almost immediately though and dives into McCaig's guard.

Cheng goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now McCaig is on top in guard.

McCaig loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
McCaig stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cheng swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Cheng looking for a guillotine here but McCaig defends easily.
Cheng is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Cheng is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and McCaig defends it well.

Cheng fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and McCaig has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Cheng lands a big head kick that sends McCaig tumbling to the mat! Cheng takes a step backwards and waves McCaig back to his feet - he wants the finish!

McCaig is rocked!
Cheng lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as McCaig crumples to the floor! Cheng milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
