Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Martin Kampmann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Iron (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kampmann comes to the cage accompanied by Lil Wayne - Knockout ft. Nicki Minaj. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Martin Kampmann!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Iron!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Iron dives in and grabs Kampmann's left leg, looking for a takedown. Kampmann pushes down on Iron's head and hops out.
Kampmann takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Iron has a takedown stuffed.
Iron digs a good hook to Kampmann's body.
Iron tries for a takedown but Kampmann sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Martin Kampmann has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Iron.

Iron closes the distance and clinches up with Kampmann, looking for a takedown. Iron pushes Kampmann against the cage but Kampmann circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Iron rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kampmann moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Mike Iron seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kampmann shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Iron is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Iron has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Kampmann is working away from the top position though.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Iron tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Kampmann has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Iron tries to hold on but Kampmann postures up.
Kampmann lands a heavy elbow.
Iron wants to control but Kampmann is having none of it.

Kampmann moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Iron has worked his arm free - good work by Iron!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Martin Kampmann will probably get the nod.

Iron scores with a nice strike.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Iron.
Iron tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kampmann swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Iron feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Kampmann pushes Iron off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Iron shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Kampmann eats them both and turns towards Iron to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Iron is looking to clinch but Kampmann is avoiding it.

Iron is breathing heavily.

Kampmann changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Iron looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Iron is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Iron looks to move to half guard but instead Kampmann has passed into mount! Damn!
Kampmann scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Iron takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

Kampmann has hold of Iron's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Iron manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Iron is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Iron tries to reverse the position but Kampmann maintains control.
Kampmann cracks Iron with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Kampmann avoids the attempt from Iron to control.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Kampmann cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

Iron tries to hold on but Kampmann postures up.
Iron is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Kampmann is staying active.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Kampmann's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

and Kampmann counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Kampmann.

Iron is looking for a triangle but Kampmann pushes his legs off easily.
Kampmann lands a couple of digs.
Kampmann thows a big elbow that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Iron controls Kampmann momentarily but Kampmann frees himself.

Iron is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Kampmann is aware though and is defending well.

Iron wants to stand but Kampmann is controlling the position.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kampmann avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Kampmann throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Kampmann is in close to Iron's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Iron had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Kampmann defends it easily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Iron escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kampmann gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Martin Kampmann overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Iron has his foot on Kampmann's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kampmann works his way back into a safe position though.
Kampmann has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Kampmann slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Kampmann, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
