Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Evgeni Klebanov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Corliss Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Klebanov comes to the cage accompanied by Your Worst Nightmare. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evgeni Klebanov!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Corliss Williams!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Klebanov shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Williams connects with a jab.
Williams misses with a body kick.
Williams throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
A nice inside leg kick there by Klebanov. That's going to slow Williams down.
Klebanov lands a nice shot to the body.

Williams rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Klebanov moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Williams shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Klebanov as he avoids it easily.

Corliss Williams seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Klebanov is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Klebanov has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Klebanov's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

That was a close round but I would say that Evgeni Klebanov will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Williams chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Klebanov can pounce on him.

Williams is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Williams is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Klebanov defends well.

Klebanov remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
