Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Clay Henderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Raje Malapitan!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Bruno Lombardi and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Malapitan tries for a takedown but Henderson circles away easily
letting Henderson counter with a right hand.
Henderson misses the shot to the body.
Malapitan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Henderson lands with a straight right. Malapitan didn't see that one coming.
Henderson jabbing away but nothing is landing.

Malapitan bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Henderson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Malapitan off and has taken his back!
The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Henderson's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.
Malapitan avoids the strikes from Henderson.
Henderson missing with strikes.
Malapitan turns into Henderson and is now in his guard.
Henderson has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Malapitan trying to move into half guard but instead Henderson has managed to sweep!
Henderson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Malapitan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Henderson wants to stand but Malapitan is controlling his posture from full guard.
Malapitan trying to keep a closed guard but Henderson is proving a slippery customer.
Malapitan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Henderson wants to stand but Malapitan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Henderson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Malapitan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Henderson tries to free his leg and advance position but Malapitan is retaining full guard.
Henderson tries to stand but Malapitan is controlling from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Henderson thows a left - swing and a miss!
Malapitan slips a straight right by Henderson.
Henderson displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Malapitan.
Clay Henderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Raje Malapitan.
Malapitan takes a jab right on the kisser.
Henderson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Malapitan throws a combination that misses
and Henderson counters with a right hand to the body.

Malapitan moves into the clinch.
Henderson lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.
Malapitan wants a takedown but no success here.
Malapitan looks gassed!

Malapitan has Henderson pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Malapitan pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Henderson tumbling to the mat - Malapitan dives into Henderson's guard.
Malapitan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Henderson wants to stand and escape but Malapitan is having none of it.

Malapitan is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Henderson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Henderson has escaped and now he's on top!
Henderson throws a big right hand that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Malapitan keeping moving, preventing Henderson from controlling successfully.
Henderson wants to stand but Malapitan has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Henderson trying to control but Malapitan is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Clay Henderson dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Malapitan moves out of range as Henderson strikes.
Henderson connects with a jab.
Malapitan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Henderson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Henderson cracks Malapitan with a right hand to the side of the head.


It looks like Raje Malapitan has been cut.
Malapitan looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Henderson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Henderson misses the jab.
Henderson throws out a loose jab but Malapitan uses good head movement to avoid it.
Henderson stuns Malapitan with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Henderson misses the target.
Henderson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Henderson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Henderson lands with a hook. Malapitan tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.


Malapitan is rocked!
Malapitan is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Henderson throws an overhand right that lands on Malapitan's shoulder, as Malapitan tries to avoid the shot.
Henderson works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Malapitan is still on wobbly legs! Can Henderson finish him?
Henderson cracks Malapitan with a big right hand that sees him stumbling back against the cage! Malapitan falls to his knees and Henderson doesn't need a second invitatation - he rushes in and fires off several unanswered shots that force the referee to stop the fight! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:03 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Clay Henderson!
