PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Roland (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stretch Morbid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morbid is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: The Fight song. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stretch Morbid!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Robert Twigg and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Morbid drives through with a takedown into guard.
Roland looking for a sweep. Not yet Roland, not yet.

Roland has an active guard here but Morbid has managed to pass into half guard.
Roland tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Roland trying to keep hold of his opponent's head but Morbid manages to pass to mount!

Morbid has hold of Roland's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Roland manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morbid doesn't have the hooks in and Roland manages to turn into his guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Morbid avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Morbid tries to close the distance and clinch up but Roland swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Morbid bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Roland's guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Nice takedown defense from Roland. No joy for Morbid on that attempt.

Morbid is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Roland is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Morbid gets his way!

and Morbid counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Morbid.

Roland has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Morbid is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Roland.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

You can see the frustration on Roland's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Morbid working from the back looking to end the fight with a rear naked choke. Roland is doing well to defend. Morbid seems to have got his hand under the chin though and he's sunk the choke in! Roland is forced to tap and this one is over!
