The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruanti will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Valquez darts in trying to clinch
and Ruanti makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Valquez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ruanti.
Ruanti fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Valquez checks it well.
Valquez tries to clinch up.
Ruanti throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ruanti lands a slapping body shot.
Valquez tries to clinch there but Ruanti circles away.
Nice uppercut lands for Ruanti. That snapped Valquez's head back.

and Valquez holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ruanti lands a left hand that snaps the head of Valquez backwards.
Valquez takes a knee to the side of the body.
Ruanti presses Valquez against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
Ruanti is leaning against Valquez and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Ruanti lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Ruanti's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ruanti shoots for a takedown but Valquez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Ruanti throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Valquez on the side of the head.
Ruanti throws an overhand right that lands on Valquez's shoulder, as Valquez tries to avoid the shot.
Valquez uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ruanti.
Estoban Valquez is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Ruanti digs a good hook to Valquez's body.
Valquez tries to clinch but Ruanti moves away
and Ruanti counters with a nice low kick that buckles Valquez's knee momentarily.
Ruanti shoots for a takedown but Valquez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Ruanti misses with a leg kick
and Valquez counters with a low kick, right behind Ruanti 's knee.
Ruanti connects with an inside leg kick.
Ruanti pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Valquez instigates a clinch.
Valquez pushes off an throws an elbow but Ruanti leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Ruanti is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Valquez rather than just go for the knockout.
Valquez moves forwards but Ruanti connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Ruanti connects with a leg kick. Valquez looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
