Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Demian Maia!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Micah Miller!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Aafke Stam and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Miller feints and as Maia raises his hands in defense, Miller changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Miller postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Maia looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Miller gets to his feet - Maia follows without any prompting.

Miller scores with a takedown into Maia's guard.
Miller trying to control but Maia is working from the bottom.
Miller slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
I looks like Miller might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Maia keeping moving, preventing Miller from controlling successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Micah Miller.

Maia fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Miller sprawls well initially but Maia persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Maia wants to pass to mount but Miller is defending the position.
Maia sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Miller defending well though.
Maia thows a huge punch but Miller dodges it nicely.
Maia throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Maia thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Miller's head.
Maia seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Maia wants to pass the guard but Miller is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Maia thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Miller is trying to stand.

Maia gets to his feet - back to striking we go!
Maia scores with a jab.
Miller showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Maia.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Miller clinches with his opponent.
Miller has had enough of the clinch but Maia keeps him there for the moment.
Maia scores with a nice hook to the head.

Miller tries to break the clinch but Maia is controlling the position.
A body shot lands from Maia.
Miller fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Maia breaks from the clinch.
Maia lands with a cross.
Maia throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Miller looks gassed!
A shot to the liver by Maia. Beautiful body shot.
Maia lands a nice looking body shot.
Maia uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

A jab from Maia finds it's way through Miller's defenses.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Maia connects with a nice short shot to Miller's temple.

Maia decides to stand up.
Miller's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Maia connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Miller scrambles back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Maia scores with a body shot.

Maia shoots in and gets a takedown into Miller's guard.
Maia working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Maia passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Miller takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Miller is trying to control Maia's posture but Maia avoids it.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Miller is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Maia asserts his dominance and retains side control.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Demian Maia dominated that round.

Maia connects with a right that clearly hurt Miller. He's backed up against the cage with nowhere to go as Maia proceeds to tee off with vicious combinations till Miller collapses and taps out under the pressure!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:05 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Demian Maia!
