Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Michael Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Latham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Black comes to the cage accompanied by Marvelous. The crowd seem to be enjoying Latham's choice of entrance music: Frontier Psychiatrist - The Avalanches. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Black misses with a few strikes there.
Black tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Black motions for Latham to come forward. Black throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Black tries a head kick but it misses.
Latham avoids the head kick by Black.
A punch combination from Black misses.
Black tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Black misses with a body kick.
Black looks to land a combination but Latham avoids it well.
Black misses with a low kick.

Latham closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Latham wants a takedown.
Latham misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Black.
Latham looking to throw knees to the head but Black is blocking nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Latham.
Black unloads a knee to the mid-section. Latham lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Latham has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Black is trying to keep an underhook but Latham manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Black is looking to escape.
Latham works his way into side control.
Black regains half guard, as Latham was trying to land strikes.
Latham has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Latham passes the guard and advances to mount!

Latham is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Black can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Black defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Latham.
Latham looks gassed!

Latham has hold of Black's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Black manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Black is looking to improve his position but Latham isn't that keen on the idea.

Latham jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Black is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Black and Latham has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Latham is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Black knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Latham is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Black is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Latham is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Black is trying to escape and Latham transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Black is forced to tap! Nice work there by Latham! Very nice indeed!
