The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Lester.

Deagle shoots in and bounces Lester off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Deagle postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lester looks a forlorn figure.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lester tries to lock up and control but Deagle gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lester has momentary wrist control but Deagle slips an elbow through the middle.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Jae Deagle wasn't active enough on the ground.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Lester enables Deagle to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Lester manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
