Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kenny Kempy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lucas Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lucas Rage has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Kenny Kempy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Lucas Rage!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kempy has his takedown stuffed

and Rage counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kempy's guard now.
Rage trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Rage throwing strikes but missing.
Rage with a flurry of punches that miss.
Rage throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Rage throwing strikes from guard but Kempy blocks nicely.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kempy is on top in guard.

Rage has his foot on Kempy's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kempy works his way back into a safe position though.
Kempy is looking to work some ground and pound but Rage has wrist control.
Kempy trying to control but Rage is working from the bottom.

Kempy got a little sloppy there for a moment and Rage has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Kempy has managed to get both his arms back between Rage's legs - danger averted.
Kempy tries to free his leg and advance position but Rage is retaining full guard.
Kempy distracts Rage with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kempy trying to control the position from guard on top but Rage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Rage keeping full guard, as Kempy tries to pass.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rage can do anything to dispel that myth.

Kempy is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Rage has his feet on Kempy's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Kempy shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Rage counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Kempy trying to hold on to Rage's head to control him but Rage postures up.
Kempy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Kempy blocking the ground and pound attempt from Rage.
Kempy is looking to control Rage's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Kempy avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kempy kicks off Rage and gets to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rage connects with a good right hand that stumbles Kempy. Kempy circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Rage tries to clinch but Kempy is having none of it.
Nice takedown defense from Rage. No joy for Kempy on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kenny Kempy. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kempy avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kempy moves to clinch but Rage breaks away
and Rage counters with a series of strikes. Kempy will be more careful next time no doubt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Kempy tries for a takedown but Rage circles away easily
and Rage connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Kempy is breathing heavily.
Kempy fails with the takedown.

Kempy fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rage sprawls well initially but Kempy persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Kempy wants to take a breather but Rage is having none of it.
Rage wants to get back to full guard.

Rage looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Rage really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kempy. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Rage tries to get to full guard but Kempy has control of the leg.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Kempy is working for a submission of some sort.
Kempy controlling the action here.
Rage tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Rage regains full guard. Nicely done.
Kempy is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Kempy advances to half guard.

Rage looking for submissions off his back.
Kempy is keen to just control but Rage is a slippery customer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rage looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Kempy is looking to advance position but Rage won't allow it.
Rage is looking for a sweep. Kempy is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Kempy lands with a punch from half guard.
Rage is not content to let Kempy control the position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Kempy seems to be looking for submissions.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rage is trying to stand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lucas Rage dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Rage misses with a double jab

and Kempy counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Kempy is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Rage escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kempy gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Kempy throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Rage works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kempy trying to control the position from guard on top but Rage is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kempy drops back, looking for a kneebar! Rage looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Rage looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Rage!
Kempy manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Kempy has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Rage. Oh but Kempy has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Rage goes limp - he's gone! Kempy jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:02 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Kenny Kempy!
