The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freire tries to move into range but Mara moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Mara moves into range and connects with a jab.
Freire takes a jab right on the kisser.
Freire doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Mara keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Freire looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Mara punishes Freire's body with a nice straight punch.

Mara throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Freire stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Mara stuffs the takedown.
Freire looks gassed!
Freire misses with a few strikes there.
Freire takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Freire drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Mara paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Mara lands with a right hand.

Mara cracks Freire with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Freire looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Mara finish him?

Freire is rocked!
Mara lands with a shot to the body.
Freire is still on wobbly legs! Can Mara finish him?

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mara jabs Freire to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Freire seems to have recovered his senses.

Mara dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Freire takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mara drops Freire with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Freire! Mara dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
