Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ming Xin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Orange (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Xin comes to the cage accompanied by Die Antwoord - Evil Boy. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ming Xin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jake Orange!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Roosa Järviläinen and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Xin takes a kick to the side of the head.
Orange misses with a leg kick

and Xin counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Orange!
Xin sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Orange is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Xin connects with a couple of good shots from mount.


It looks like Jake Orange has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Xin trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Orange regains full guard. Nicely done.
Xin wants to control from the top but Orange keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

We're going to have a standup here because Ming Xin wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Xin avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Orange throws a leg kick

and Xin counters with a single leg into guard. Orange didn't expect that.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Orange holds on and takes a little breather.
Xin missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Orange not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Orange really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Xin. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Xin wants to control from the top but Orange keeps moving.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Orange not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Xin blocks a low kick nicely.
Xin misses with a wild body shot.
Orange on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Orange misses with a body shot.
Xin walks into a stiff left hand from Orange.
Good exchange - Orange coming out on top.
Xin moves to clinch but Orange breaks away

and Orange counters by moving into the clinch.
Orange digs a right hand underneath Xin's ribcage. Xin let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Xin goes for a takedown attempt but Orange pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Orange attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Orange misses with an uppercut

and Xin counters with a single leg into guard. Orange didn't expect that.
Xin trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Orange controls Xin momentarily but Xin frees himself.
Xin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Orange is keeping the position for now.

Orange looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

Jake Orange has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Xin shoots for a double leg takedown but Orange sprawls well. He's pushed Xin's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Xin throws a body punch but Orange moves out of range.
Xin looks to land a left hand but Orange moved out of range nicely.
Xin misses with a jab to the body
and Orange counters with a nice leg kick.
Orange misses the jab.
Horrible takedown by Xin or perhaps it was just good defense by Orange which made him look bad.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ming Xin. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Xin cracks Orange with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Xin misses with a body shot.

The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Xin checks a leg kick.
Xin checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.

Xin closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Xin is keen to just control but Orange is a slippery customer.
Xin sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Orange is pressing down on Xin's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Xin stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Orange swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Xin postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Orange wants to stand up but Xin is controlling him.

Orange wants to improve his position but instead Xin has moved into half guard.
Xin prevents Orange from improving his position.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Xin throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ming Xin will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Jake Orange's cut.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Orange wants to sweep but no luck.
Xin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Xin drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Xin jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Xin throws a big right hand that misses.
Orange is trying to keep Xin in close.
Xin is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Xin keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Orange's head.
Orange not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Xin in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Orange tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Xin trying to control but Orange is working from the bottom.
Ming Xin is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ming Xin just wasn't active enough.
Orange moves out of range as Xin strikes.
Orange keeps Xin at a distance using the push kick.
Orange uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Xin.

Orange gets caught flat footed, as Xin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Jake Orange has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Orange is in close to Xin's body, working some short punches and elbows.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Xin wants to hit a switch here but Orange passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Xin there!
Orange throwing strikes but Xin uses the opportunity to regain half guard.
Xin regains full guard. Nicely done.
Orange wants to pass the guard but Xin is keeping the position.
Orange trying to control the position from guard on top but Xin is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ming Xin showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Xin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
