Cohen comes to the cage accompanied by Season in the Abyss. Burgemeister has chosen Lil Scrappy - Head Bussa as his entrance music. Daniel Burgemeister has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Burgemeister!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Bruno Lombardi and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burgemeister throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Cohen counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Cohen slows the pace down in half guard.

Cohen looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Cohen is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Burgemeister has managed to free his arm - good work.
Burgemeister looks like he's trying to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Cohen is working for a submission of some sort.

Cohen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Burgemeister defends it well.

Cohen is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Burgemeister sees it coming and defends easily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Cohen is pressing down on Burgemeister's thigh, looking to free his foot. Burgemeister is holding on for now.
Cohen moves nicely into side control.
Cohen trying to control the position but Burgemeister is working away.
Burgemeister looks gassed!
Cohen advances to full mount.
Cohen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Burgemeister really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cohen. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cohen has control of Burgemeister's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Burgemeister regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Cohen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Cohen throws some wild stikes that Burgemeister manages to avoid easily.

Cohen wants to finish this one by submission but Burgemeister is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Cohen.
Cohen trying to control but Burgemeister is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lawrence Cohen dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cohen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Burgemeister. Cohen does a little dance to reset his feet.
Burgemeister swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Cohen counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Burgemeister's guard now.
Burgemeister can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cohen controls the pace.
Cohen is pushing down on Burgemeister's leg trying to pass to half guard. Burgemeister is fighting to maintain full guard but Cohen has managed to sneak the leg through.

Cohen is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Still in half guard, Cohen seems content to control.

Cohen is looking for a kimura here.
Burgemeister is breathing heavily.

Cohen pushes down on Burgemeister's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Cohen keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Cohen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Burgemeister defends it well.

Cohen is looking for a kimura but Burgemeister is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Cohen to get the leverage.
Cohen moves nicely into side control.
Cohen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Burgemeister keeps working.
Cohen staying calm.

Cohen is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Burgemeister is trying to escape and Cohen transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Burgemeister is forced to tap! Nice work there by Cohen! Very nice indeed!
