PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Magnus Edwinsson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Device (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Edwinsson comes into the arena with M by Ayumi Hamasaki blaring out of the sound system. Magnus Edwinsson has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Edwinsson lunges at Device with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Device's hand.
Device shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Edwinsson as he avoids it easily.
Device looks to clinch

and Edwinsson decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Device's guard.
Edwinsson thows a big elbow that misses.

Edwinsson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Device is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Edwinsson, into his guard.

Edwinsson pushes Device off and scrambles back to his feet.

and Edwinsson counters with a nice double leg into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Edwinsson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Device was covering up waiting for the punch and Edwinsson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Edwinsson accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Edwinsson has control of Device's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Device regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Edwinsson has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Device takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.

Edwinsson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Device, who protects the arm well.

Edwinsson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Edwinsson cracks Device with a big right hand but Device just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

Edwinsson is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Device to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Device shrugs it off.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Edwinsson lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Edwinsson has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Device is trying to keep an underhook but Edwinsson manages to get the takedown into half guard.
