PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demian Gaea (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gavin Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gaea might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Gangsta. Douglas has chosen Drowning Pool - Step up as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Douglas stuffs the takedown attempt from Gaea. Gaea gets slowly back to his feet.
Gaea on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Gaea shoots in for a takedown but Douglas shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Gaea shoots in looking for a takedown but Douglas manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Gaea's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Douglas wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gaea, who protects the arm well.

Gaea working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Douglas doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Douglas manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Douglas decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Douglas tries to bum rush Gaea with a series of wild strikes but Gaea uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Douglas throws a right and a left that Gaea avoids nicely.

Douglas feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
