Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Slim Shadie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Urho Kukkamaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kukkamaa moves to clinch but Shadie breaks away

and Shadie counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Shadie.
Shadie pushes down on Kukkamaa's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Shadie looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kukkamaa with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Shadie is trying to control. Kukkamaa wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shadie thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Shadie wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Kukkamaa, who protects the arm well.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Shadie is looking for a sweep.

Shadie is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Kukkamaa is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Shadie can't escape the position.
Shadie has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Shadie is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Kukkamaa's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Kukkamaa's back!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Shadie tries to escape but Kukkamaa has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Shadie rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Shadie makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Shadie.

Shadie is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Kukkamaa frees his head nicely. Oh but Shadie has switched to an armbar! Kukkamaa is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
